My name is Ralph Simmons, and I am a photographer based in Miami, Florida. Photography has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. What started as a hobby in high school with a borrowed camera gradually grew into a lifelong pursuit of capturing the world through my own perspective. Over the years, I have worked throughout the United States, traveling from coast to coast to document people, places, and the stories that connect them.

For me, photography is not just about taking pictures. It is about observing how light interacts with a scene, how a moment unfolds naturally, and how emotion can be expressed without words. I strive to create images that feel genuine and timeless. Whether I am shooting a portrait session, a landscape, or a commercial project, my goal is to produce work that captures honesty and depth. I want people to feel something when they look at my photographs, even if they cannot quite describe what it is.

Over the past decade, I have had the opportunity to work with clients in a wide range of settings. My portfolio includes lifestyle and travel photography, editorial work, commercial campaigns, and personal projects that explore everyday life in new ways. I have photographed in cities such as Los Angeles, Chicago, Austin, and New York, as well as small towns and quiet rural spaces that often get overlooked. Each environment presents its own rhythm and challenges, and I enjoy the process of adapting my style to fit the story I am trying to tell.

Living in Miami gives me a unique perspective as an artist. The city is full of color, movement, and cultural diversity, which continually inspires my creative process. The tropical light here is distinct and ever-changing, offering endless opportunities to experiment with tone and atmosphere. Many of my favorite images have come from simple walks around the city or spontaneous shoots with local artists, musicians, and business owners.

Beyond client work, I believe in the importance of personal projects. I spend a significant amount of time photographing local life, street scenes, and the natural landscapes of South Florida. These experiences remind me why I fell in love with photography in the first place. They keep me grounded and curious, and they often lead to new ideas for future collaborations.

When I am not behind the camera, you can usually find me exploring new cities, testing out film stocks, or editing from my small studio in Miami with a cup of Cuban coffee nearby.
